Brother Jones was our neighbor from 1983-1986. He was far and away the best Gospel Doctrine teacher I have ever experienced. Not only did he know the most amazing trivia that made his lessons extraordinary, but he was amazingly humble and kind.
He gave a fireside at our home about the spirits of animals, and when it was over I asked him about killing spiders. A lifelong arachnophobic, I was killing at least one spider a day in my house. He said to just warn them to get out of my house, and if they didn’t leave, it was ok to smash ‘em. I think of him often, and laugh at his advice. He was the epitome of a true saint!
