Gib hit me with a golf ball the first time we ever played golf together, pure accident. Great wit, wonderful sense of humor and timing all wrapped up in one person. Another friend called him an original. Indeed, he was. Prayers for Sue and all of the rest of his family.
We have had the honor and joy of living across the street from Gib for over thirty years. Everything Sue wrote was exactly how we remember him and brought tears to our eyes. I cannot even begin to say how kind and gracious he was to us. Our kids all have stories about him and loved him like a grandfather. He came across as gruff and serious, but you soon found a heart of gold. We always looked to Gib and Sue as family and love them dearly. His departure has shaken our world, but his memory will live forever in our hearts.
