Glen Noell Marble's Obituary
Glen Noell Marble, aged 91, passed away peacefully in Taylorsville, Utah on March 24th, 2025. Noell, as he was known, was born in Tremonton, Utah to B. Glen and Vera Marchant Marble on November 27, 1933. He was raised in Brigham City, Utah. He spent one year in Oklahoma as a youth while his father served in the army at Fort Sill, OK.
He was a state debate champion in high school and ran the projector at the only movie house in town. His high school days ended after his junior year as he went off to Logan UT, to attend Utah State University. He enjoyed attending reunions with his high school friends during his life. He also maintained and rekindled many relationships from his years in Brigham City. He valued and enjoyed his education in Brigham City UT, Logan UT, Syracuse NY, Boulder, CO and in the CA bay area.
He earned an undergraduate degree and multiple graduate degrees, and later his high school diploma. He enjoyed multiple careers in a variety of fields. Beginning as a chemist at a grain mill in Ogden UT. He then taught high school math and science to students in Roy UT and Hayward CA. Next, he was the Teacher’s Union Representative in Hayward School District, and then as the Executive Secretary for the Houston Texas Teachers Union and the Torrance CA Teachers Union. Following that he became the leader of California Teachers Association in Northern CA. Next, he became a very successful salesman for Bell Industries in Southern CA, handling printing equipment and supplies for the Aerospace Industry. Next, he acquired a printing business that made specialty labels for the bottling industry. In his spare time, he acquired and traded apartments and condominiums in Southern CA, Boise ID, Las Vegas NV, Sacramento CA, Reno NV, and finally in Salt Lake City UT. He found joy in his work and the many friends he acquired. He also loved to travel in his motorhome. After making multiple trips throughout the mountain west beginning in about 1972 and sometimes residing in his “Coach” for work, he twice traveled around US in his motorhome with his children and grandchildren, flying in and out of airports to pause for a month and then picking it up again with another passenger / copilot at the helm. Many good memories were made visiting factories and museums and historical sites and his children’s former LDS missions. Getting unlost was his specialty as he cruised down the highway with his car in tow.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints until about 1964. He served in the Elder’s Quorum Presidency and in the Sunday School. His parents and his children prayed for him to return to activity. After more than 45 years he returned to his testimony with the help of his home teacher and friends in Cottonwood Heights. He served in the Salt Lake City temple, greeting those who came to worship. He did this as long as his physical body allowed.
He is survived by his four sons, Brian (Linda), Gordon (Kaylynn), Jeff (Lisa), and Keith (Mindy). He is also survived by his sister Roselyn (Quinn) Baird. He is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Vera, his brother Lee, and his sister Marva (Steve) Lawrence. He is also preceded in death by his daughters, Julene Isaacson and Leeann (Matt) Morris.
