Glenn B Day's Obituary
Glenn B. Day, age 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 23rd, 2023.
My dad was born in Preston Idaho on January 12th, 1942 to Rueben Day and Neata McDougal. My dad was the second oldest, sharing that spot in the family with his wonderful loving twin sister, Gwen Ellis. My dad joined the Army at a young age and was able to see some of the world while in the service. He used to tell us stories of how him and a couple friends used to like to go to the neighborhood Taverns in Germany where they would play darts, drink beer and flirt with the local gals. Go figure!! But that all stopped when he came back to the states and met the love of his life my mom, Neide. My mom wasn't an easy catch but he knew that was his soulmate and he wasn't going to stop until he won her love. He finally did and they were married December 18th 1965. During their marriage they had two children, Michael Brian Day and Valarie Heise, My dad went to school and became a Diesel Mechanic and worked for Wheeler Machinery for almost 30 years before he retired. My dad was a hard worker and did everything he could to make sure we were all taken care of. My dad gave us a good life and he took pride in that. My dad and mom were lucky to be able to spend 57 wonderful years together and build some wonderful memories until she passed away in 2022. After loosing my mom my dad was never the same. His soulmate, companion, best friend and reason for living was gone. I knew that he wanted nothing more than to be with her again. Thankfully we were able to spend one more year with my dad before he decided it was time to go see my mom. It is definitely hard to have both of my parents gone and I miss them tremendously but I get peace in knowing they are together again and they are free from all pain, suffering and sadness.
My dad is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two brothers. He is survived by his two children, 6 grandkids, two great-grandkids, friends and extended family.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday November 12th from 2 - 4 at Premier Funeral Services. 67 E. 8000 S. Midvale, Utah.
Fly high with mom now dad!
