Glenna Mae Thornburg's Obituary
Glenna passed away peacefully at McKay Dee Hospital under the care of Inspiration Hospice on August 8, 2025. Born May 20, 1939 to Glen J and Anna M (Stanton) Eskew in Richmond Indiana. She was the 3rd of 7 siblings. Glenna moved to Utah from Ohio in 1985 after securing a job with the IRS; a job in which she loved. She was one who liked numbers and detail. Although she was not much for expression or affection, those who truly knew her, knew that she cared and loved them. She was not a person of words or things, she liked a simple life. She enjoyed traveling and meeting people from all over. She and long time companion and best friend Mike traveled about and loved eating out and trying different eateries.
Glenna is survived by her children; Beverly Bayles of Marion Ohio, Barbara (Dan) Price of Bucyrus Ohio, Rebecca (Dave) Nye of Vanlue Ohio, Beth (Chris) Lutz of Nevada Ohio, Robert Lloyd of Ogden and Brian (Jennifer) Lloyd of Ogden. Long time companion and best friend Mike Geroche of Layton; Extended family Tom and Rayma Ross, Layton. Grandchildren: Karla (Johnny) Morris of Lebanon Tennessee, Nikki Nichol of Shelby Ohio, Jenson Hecker and Jayme Massey of Bucyrus Ohio, Brittany and Daniel Lloyd of Ogden, Brian (Jessica) Price Hilliard Ohio, and Jennifer (Rob) Gall, Bucyrus Ohio, Alex (Jason) Hamblin, David (Miranda) Towne, Gabby (Duncan) Rappleye of Layton. Great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Dylan, Ethan, Mason, Connor, Korbin, Johnny, Kaelynn, Kinleigh, Brynleigh, Gibson, Nova, Jemma, Jaxson, Aiden, Layla, Kade, Lily, Navy, Parker, Brooks, and Graham. One Great great grandchild, Bliss. Brother, Vaughn (Tina) Filby, Winchester Indiana, Sister Rose Filby, Cleveland Ohio.
She is preceded in death by husband Charles Thornburg, Brother, Vernie Filby, Sisters, Phyllis Amburn, Thelma Dinges, Joan Lundy, son-in-law Steve Bayles, Grandson Jay Owen.
A memorial celebration of life will be held, Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 10:00 at Premier Funeral Services, 5335 South 1950 West, Roy, Utah where family and friends may visit. In lieu of flowers, one may donate to Habitat for Humanity, 3111 Wall Ave Ogden.
