My name is Conna Rae Horrocks Torrey. Daughter of Robert and Hellace Horrocks. I remember a time when I was supposed to be keeping an eye on Gloria. I wasn’t doing a very good job because when I turned around she was chewing on a green grasshopper. I quickly disposed of the grasshopper and wiped off her mouth. She seemed none the worse for having done this. I don’t remember whether or not I told Aunt Rayma.
I wasn’t aware of any of Uncle Marvin’s and Aunt Rayma’s children, other than Gordon and Gloria. I now know of one other named Britt, living in Draper Utah. I would like to be in touch with him.

Ohhhh my Gloria Jean! How beautiful a soul you have! I have literally loved you all my life. We always managed to see each other through the years playing catch up and every time we were together it was like we were never a part. I know my mom wishes we could of seen your happy face one more time as you were her first real friend here in the states! There are to many memories to list however you and the kids will always be loved to the moon and back by us! Until we meet again! By the way I will still squeeze tight and kiss the top of your head you being short n all! Thought and prayers! Love you!

I was 10 years old when Jean graduated from High School. I remember how beautiful she was, and so COOL when we would visit. She was friendly and it wasn't below her dignity to talk with a child. One day I saw a stuffed cow on her bed, and loved it. It had flowers by the ears, and a little cow bell. On Christmas, Santa brought me an identical cow! My mother must have known how I loved it. Mostly, I was thrilled to have something like Jean's. I loved how she loved Laurel (my aunt who lived with us since her mother, my grandmother died (age 12). They were always close, and shared such fun conversations. She even spoke at Laurel's funeral. Jean, in later years, before my parents died, presented them with a large, beautiful picture. It was a hand sketched portrait of them, which stayed in their hallway for years. The picture still remains in my family, and we consider it a treasure. God bless you Jean for your contribution to me, and my family!
