I became fast friends with Gloria and Glen when we met in San Diego in 1984 and have remained extremely close ever since. We spent much time together there and then in Colorado after they and then my family moved there.
Gloria was as kind, happy, and vivacious a person as I have ever known. She was an “honorary” roommate in the San Diego townhome where Glen and I lived. One time, one of us burped :) – I won’t say who – and Gloria was flattered that we behaved normally with her there. She gave me a stuffed teddy bear that we named “Hubert”, which I still keep on my bed and is a constant reminder of her friendly and often whimsical nature.
In Colorado we lived within an hour of each other and often met, sometimes at their place, sometimes mine, and sometimes in between. My boys and I have warm memories of getting together with Gloria and Glen at Rosie’s Diner, ice skating, them attending one of my son’s birthday parties, shopping, and just having fun and chatting. We will dearly miss Gloria and treasure the memories of our time together. We are comforted in the knowledge that we will all meet again and continue to enjoy time together.
