Gordon E Herron "Chief"
Gordon was born 6/24/1942 to Theda Ney and George Herron in Salt Lake City, UT. Married Karen, later divorced. He is survived by daughters, Donna, Suzanne, Sherrie & Kara. He Married JoAnn Robinette Stine 12/15/79. Survived by wife and stepchildren, Charlie, Christina, Dorothy & Lyla as well as by multiple grandchildren & great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Lester and Fred Peterson; and cousin, Kenny Peterson.
He served in U.S. Army 1/8/64 to 1/11/68 as a cook, which became his lifelong profession. Counseled boys in Genesis and Decker Lake programs where the boys gave him the nickname "Chief"
Gordon passed away 1/14/14 due to cancer. Family wishes to express thanks to VA hospice team and supportive ward members, family & friends.
Graveside services to be held at the Utah Veterans Cemetery at Camp Williams, UT at 11:00 a.m. on 1/24/14 followed by memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, 12 "C" St., SLC, UT.
