Grant Howard's Obituary
Grant Howard, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at his home on July 19, 2017.
He was born on May 29, 1925 in Charlo, Montana to Alfred J. and Lucy McNeely Howard.
At the age of 16 he joined the Marine Corp and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was an active participant in three Pacific invasions and earned the Purple Heart. He worked for 42 years at the Southern Pacific Railroad, first as a brakeman and then as a conductor.
He married Joan Purcell on August 4, 1950. He is survived by his wife, Joan, four sons, David (Lanette), Richard (Janet), Paul (Suzy), James (Regina), 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at his request.
