Some observations about Greg Baker….
He had his own set of talents and gifts…just like there rest of us.
He was an Environmentalist
He was a Minimalist and lived what he believed.
He may have struggled to communicate effectively all the time, but he loved people…especially if you took the time to let him into your life.
He wasn’t needy…and rarely asked for help.
He loved animals…especially his dogs
He loved the earth and nature.
He loved a good can of coca cola.
He was motivated to read and was an intelligent conversationalist…especially about sports.
Refreshingly, there was no question about what he was thinking…he’d happily tell you….whether you agreed with him or not.
He was greatly blessed to have two marvelous compassionate and loving neighbors. Jesus teaches us that the one true way to show Him love is to love and serve others….and especially those who who may not be the easiest to love.
Gene and Joeleen and Susan and Kent…thank you for loving and serving him these many years!
In the Book of Mormon, Alma is giving advice to his son Corianton…and he teaches him some important lessons about mortality and immortality. He taught….
11 Now, concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection—Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, are taken home to that loving God who gave them life.
12 And then shall it come to pass, that those spirits arrive in a place which is called paradise where they will find a state of rest and a state of peace… a place where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.
I know that today Greg is in this peaceful place surrounded by others who love him…and hopefully a few dogs too. I pray for God’s blessing on him.
