The last time I talked to Uncle Greg was by email. He was all in and supportive of my desires to get Grandma on an airplane to see my parents mission in Missouri. Aunt Sherri came in to watch over Grandpa and Uncle Ron and Aunt Leslie were willing to be the back up plan for Grandpa. Grandma said Aunt Sheri came over to go over airport layouts and how to get where she needed to be. Everybody was all in to make it happen, including Uncle Greg and Aunt Caroline. They encouraged me to buy the tickets and gave Grandma the ride to and from the airport. I am so grateful for everyone's support. We had a great time together only months before my parents were sent home due to the pandemic. Another month or two and we wouldn't have been able to pull it off.
I knew then the love Uncle Greg had for his mom and in talking with Julia she said, "My dad did everything and anything for Grandma". I was so grateful for their sweet relationship and love.
So fun to read all of these tender memories. I didn't realize chess and bowling were a family thing. My dad also takes both sports very seriously. I am so grateful my dad got to share and gets to remember so many good times and memories with his family.
Much love,
Erin Egbert
