Guy Jan Barber's Obituary
Guy Jay Barber passed away on Aug. 6, 2015 in Davis North Hospital.
Guy was born to Vaun and Mavis Barber on Oct 29, 1944 and was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother Terry whom he looked up to and admired greatly. He spent his early years in Syracuse, Utah and attended Weber State College.
Guy was a veteran and served his country in the Army Reserves. He spent most of his career in the furniture business, working at Leavitts and Colletts. He was a top salesman and buyer and with his people skills, knowledge of the product and work ethic he helped thousands of customers decorate their homes.
Guy loved sports and was an accomplished golfer. He particularly enjoyed playing with a group of "the guys" at Lakeside Golf Course and Oakridge County Club. Guy possessed a keen intellect and could engage in a lively conversation on many subjects. He was an avid reader.
Guy is survived by a special aunt Shirley Egan who always made sure that Guy was present and welcome at all family get-togethers. He is also survived by many cousins and their spouses and nieces and nephews.
A Commemoration of his life will be held 6:00 pm, Sunday, Aug 16, 2015 at the Syracuse, Utah Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome.
