Our mother, grandmother, and sister and friend, Gwen Merrill Reading passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on that same date. The accident occurred in West Jordan, Utah. She was Read Obituary
Our lives were touched and enlarged in knowing and associating with Gwen. She always had a smile to share and joy to bring into the moments. She was interested in everything and everyone. She cared about people and especially her family. We missed her when she left Bend to be closer to family. I loved sitting beside her in choir. I remember what a beautiful voice Gwyn had and her leading the music at church. I was not surprised to read that she and her sister's had a recording contract. I enjoyed working with the family cleaning pools and picking up chlorine for the business and learned that when chlorine splashes on your jeans it will eat a hole in them quickly. I have fond memories of working there. When Gwyn and the family moved to Fremont they changed my life forever and for the better.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Gwen (we called her Miss Gwen) throughout the years of serving her at Village Inn and then Jim's. She was such a sweet and elegant lady with such a special spirit and I loved our talks. She talked with so much joy about her family and she was so very proud of all of you! I am very saddened by this news. My condolences to her loved ones. I'm sending lots of love and prayers. She is now celebrating with Roland and her son and all who passed before her.

My heart is breaking! I was looking forward to attending and celebrating her 100th birthday. Gwen was a true friend. I missed her greatly when she moved and made sure we stopped by to see her each time we were in Utah. She lived a life so full that I mourn that she was taken “too soon”.
I can only imagine the wonderful reunion full of laughter and joy that is occurring in Heaven.
