Gwen Kay Schmidt Royce's Obituary
Gwen was born February 5, 1936 to Harold Schmidt and Eva Davis Schmidt she was an only child. Our mother died unexpectedly on August 6, 2021 at the age of 85 surrounded by her loved ones. She will be deeply missed.
As a young girl Gwen loved spending time with her cousins at her grandmother’s house in Idaho. Gwen attended South High School.
She married her first love Gene Record, in Salt Lake City, UT. They had six wonderful children together.
Gwen is survived by her six beautiful children, Jennifer Weight (Ralph, deceased), Susan Record, David Record (Carol), Paul Record (Ginny), Gary Record (Gretha), Carol Tanner (Choogie). Gwen is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She is predeceased in death by her parents, her husband’s Pete Lambrose and Gary Royce.
Gwen was an accomplished artist who loved to travel, and crochet. Gwen enjoyed traveling and fishing in the western United States, Canada and Mexico. She was a snow birder in Southern Utah, she had many friends in the Winter Haven Community in Washington Utah.
Our deepest appreciations go out to the CCU Team at St Marks Hospital, Who kept Gwen as comfortable as possible for her short stay in the hospital. A special appreciation to her granddaughters Mandy Thomson thank you for coordinating information for us, and Cassandra Ayala for helping keep Gwen comfortable in her last hours.
