Harley Donaldson Moyer's Obituary
With heavy hearts, the family of Harley Donaldson Moyer announces his passing on July 4, 2025, at the age of 93 in Springville, Utah. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who spent his life in the service of others, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, faith, and kindness.
Born in Rochester, New York, on April 15, 1932, Don was the son of Harley Adair Moyer and Adele MacMillan Moyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 70 years, Marilyn Thomsen Moyer, whom he married on September 5, 1952, and his sister, Adele Kenny. Don is survived by his children: Doug Moyer (Martha), Craig Moyer (Joan), James Moyer (Sherry), and Shauna Cavalli (Shawn), as well as his wife of almost 2 years, Naomi Sumsion. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Don earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and an MBA from the University of Rochester. After serving his country in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1953, he worked for Eastman Kodak, the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Utah Hospital, and the University Pathology Department. He also served on the Board of Directors for ARUP, where he made meaningful contributions to the healthcare field and the lives of many.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Don and Marilyn served a mission to the England London South Mission from 1995 to 1996, where he shared his deep faith and commitment to others.
Don’s family and friends will remember him for his gentle spirit, his integrity, and his unwavering dedication to his loved ones. He was a man of great intellect and boundless generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand and offer guidance. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.
A viewing will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at the Lehi North Stake Center, 650 East 3200 North, Lehi, Utah. A private graveside service will take place on July 15, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Don’s memory.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Premier Funeral Service. Interment will be at Lehi City Cemetery.
