Harry Edmund "Ed" North's Obituary
Harry Edmund North (known as Ed by many) had a mental toughness and super hero heart that out lasted what the doctors said he would by almost 3 decades.
Born on July 21, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to George North and Ivy Simister North. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and three older sisters Emma, Georgina and Beverly.
Ed is a proud army Quartermaster veteran. He enjoyed a lifelong career as a teamster truck driver and took pride in being a safe, clean, efficient and hard working driver while providing well for his family.
Ed carried a definitive knowing of the guidance he received from the holy spirit as well as a testimony of God and Jesus throughout his life.
He passed on April 12, 2026 in his home surrounded by loved ones in WVC, leaving behind a legacy of strength, perseverance and deep love and devotion for family and those close.
Ed was blessed to experience this life as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife Gloria, his 2 children and their spouses, Kevin (Dianna) North and Sherrie (Sandy) Hatch, 8 grandchildren and spouses; Todd (Alice) North, Samantha (Andrew) Stinson, Ashley (Nate) Swenson, Joslyn Hatch, Kensley Hatch, EJ (Rylie) Hatch, Tage Hatch, and Tatum Hatch as well as 7 great grandchildren; Katelynn, Kasey, Emma, Ruby, Bridget, Rex, Lucy. And he promised to send us more when he gets to heaven
Ed leaves behind more than memories he leaves a way of being that reminds us family is everything, mindset can get you far even when your body doesn't want to and life isn't to be taken too seriously.
Ed's memorial service will be held Saturday April 25th, 2026 at 12pm at Stonegate Ward, 4980 West 3285 South West Valley City, UT
A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at 11am.
