Harry Wayne Stewart's Obituary
Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Harry Wayne Stewart passed away June 2, 2015 in Provo, Utah at the age of 73. Born to Roland Hugh Stewart and Elva Woolley Jan 26,1942 he was raised on the family farm in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. He served an LDS mission in France and later attended BYU. While there, he met Sondra L. Gray, the love of his life, and after a whirlwind courtship married her a short time later on Dec 28,1964. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Dad had many accomplishments during his life, both personal and in business and was a great example of how to work hard and to get back up on your feet if you were ever knocked down. He was sincere and very generous to all who knew him and an eternal optimist.
Several debilitating strokes and two heart attacks in his early 50’s took a heavy toll on Dad and his longevity is directly attributable to the loving care he received from Mom. His greatest joy was his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sondra; children: Wayne (Ruth) Stewart; Julia Ruth (David) Soderquist; Rachael (Daren) Getz; Lora (Don) Garlitz; David (Teah) Stewart; 17 grandchildren; and his younger sisters Joanne Stewart and Kelley Gregson. He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild (Hope Garlitz).
The viewing will be held Friday June 5, 2015 from 10am to 11am at the LDS Stake Center located at 1315 East 900 South in Provo Utah. Graveside services will be held later that day at 2pm at the Elysian Burial Gardens located at 1075 East 4580 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
