Helen Therese Aurich's Obituary
Helen Therese Aurich, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in South Jordan, Utah due to Alzheimer’s. She was born August 28, 1935 in Grass Valley, California to John and Julia Horvath and had two younger sisters, Mary and Judy. She married Albert J. Aurich on March 29, 1955 in Raton, New Mexico. On Aug 19, 1964 their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple where they were sealed with their children forever as a family.
Mom loved caring for others and radiated this special gift in many ways. In addition to being a wonderful mother and foster mother, she was a nurse for 25 years at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. Later in life, Mom and Dad served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the Philippine Missionary Training Center, where she continued caring for others as the MTC Nurse.
Mom was dedicated to serving in the church. She loved spending time with little children, especially as their Primary Chorister. She was also a talented teacher and enjoyed teaching gospel classes. Mom truly loved the Savior and was a great example of Christlike service throughout her life.
Mom also enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting, crafting, baking and gardening. She was an avid reader and truly loved studying and learning new things. She was a great example to her family, and although she will be dearly missed, we know we will see her again. Mom, we love you and are so happy that you and your sweet daughter, Lorri, are now together again.
Therese is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Albert, and their children, Kathi Bevans, Julie Stams, John (Sandy), David (Zaid), Sherri (Scott) Patrick, 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Judy, daughter Lorri, and two great grandsons, Parker and Matthew Aurich.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Dunsinane Chapel (9899 S. 3845 W.) in South Jordan, Utah. The viewing will be held from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 5:00. Her graveside service will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lebanon, Oregon.
