Helen Joy Barrett's Obituary
Helen Joy passed away June 16, 2022, at the age of 83, with her loving husband, Craig and two daughters, Carla and Kellie, at her side. She held a special place in her heart for her Son-in-law, Tony Kiser, who she considered her son.
Helen was born June 9, 1939 to Mervin J. and Ada J. Russell of St. John, Utah. Helen’s brother, Gene Russell, was just 18 months younger and lives in Evanston, Wyoming.
Helen attended Tooele High School. She married John Green in 1955 and later divorced in 1982. Helen married her best friend, Richard Craig Barrett in 1991 and they resided in Taylorsville, Utah 31 years where she decorated her home with vibrant colors and style that made all who entered feel cheery. She and Craig loved to decorate for every holiday.
Helen was a voracious reader and loved to talk politics, religion and philosophy. She was very outspoken about her beliefs and did love her family dearly.
