Helga Elizabeth Morby's Obituary
Helga Elizabeth Morby beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, & dear friend passed away suddenly on February 12, 2015 after a lengthy illness. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Helga was born on September 24, 1944 in Bremen, Germany to Hans Wiborny & Elfriede Augusta Marach. They were strong members of the L.D.S. church in Germany. Helga immigrated to the United States in 1948 along with her mother.
Helga loved and grew up with her 2 brothers Wally and David and her cousins Werner and Heide Woltjen. Werner and Heide were as brother and sister to Helga. She also provided special needs care to her severely handicapped brother David. She was a proud graduate of South High School, Class of 1963 and attended B.Y.U. for 2 yrs. She worked at Holy Cross Hospital as a Surgical Technician. She then married Peter A. Frenzel in 1966 & had 2 sons, Peter Jr. & Paul. This marriage ended in divorce in 1970. She then married John (Jay) T. Morby on September 4, 1976. John and Helga had 2 daughters, Amber and Natalie.
Helga was a “fashionista” and loved clothing, handbags, shopping, jewelry, make-up and her oldest daughter Amber doing her nails. She had a love of “Classic Movies” and her beloved pets. Christmastime was Helga’s favorite time of the year to cook a big meal for her family to enjoy. When she was not shopping with Amber, she enjoyed “Date Night” with her husband and spending time with family. Amber (Daughter) lived with her parents & was Helga’s primary care giver.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John (Jay) T. Morby, children, Peter (Charlotte) Frenzel, Paul (Gueen) Frenzel, Amber Coleman & Natalie (Rodney) Brown; brother, Walter P. Zoellner and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elfriede, father, Hans & brother, David.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday February 19, 2015 at the Aspen Hills Ward 9855 South 2300 East, Sandy Utah. The Viewing will be at the church prior to services from 10:00-11:45 am. Burial will be at Lake Hills Memorial Cemetery, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.
