Diane Russell
Hi to Hugh's family! Hugh and Dorothy and their girls lived near to us when they lived in North Ogden. What a cool family they were! We laughed about Norm and Diane's comments on how one of their kids thought that Hugh's name was "Hug". Hugh and Dorothy were so smart and did so much for our ward. Dorothy was always so kind and thoughtful and so well liked in our ward. At one time, Hugh was Elders" Quorum instructor and his lessons were so fascinating because he was able to add so many personal experiences of people he knew and the counsel he gave to us as part of his lessons caused our attendance to greatly improve. Hardly anyone knew this but our bishop had Hugh counsel some youth in our ward about some severe personal problems they were having. (Previously to Hugh and Dorothy moving into our ward two ward youth had committed suicide). Hugh was so caring and just had a gift for knowing how to counsel these kids as he listened to their problems. One of our sons said the kids in the ward "really liked and respected Brother Smith because he really cared about them". Well, best wishes to all of Hugh's family and we know that each of you realize what a blessing it is to be related to such a talented and caring person. PS What the heck is the "Mexican Train Game" anyway. Best regards, Jeff & Connie Stowe
