Ida Consuelo Gallegos

Ida Consuelo Gallegos peacefully passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024, while receiving care at St. Mark’s Hospital. During this time, she was surrounded with love by her family. She was born on April 28, 1940, in Parkview, New Mexico, to the late Tonita and Benigno Gallegos. They had four children. She is predeceased by her brother Rafael Gallegos and sister Tonita Gallegos and is survived by Mary Trujillo. After growing up in New Mexico and Utah, she relocated to Los Angeles where she lived for 27 years. Eventually, in 1992, she returned to Salt Lake City to be close to her father. She is the loving and devoted mother of Natalie Singh, Michelle Clements (Eric), Kristine Licona, and Margaret Maestas. An adored grandmother, she cherished her role in the lives of Cheri Fifield, Natasha Duncombe (Kevin), Joseph Licona, Robert Maestas (Adriana), Misha Maestas, Mia Maestas, Andrew Clements, Austin Clements, and Adam Clements. As a cherished great grandmother, she enveloped each with love and built a unique bond with Ashley Fifield, Naveah Maestas, Ida Maestas, Aliya Maestas, Emma Maestas, Josiah FireThunder, Marcel Martin, Miliyah Martin and Benjamin Duncombe. She will join her great granddaughter Abbigail Fifield in heaven. Pete Rosales was her loving partner for 17 years and her beloved pet Chica was her constant companion. As a treasured member of a large close-knit blended family with many additional siblings, she was preceded in death by 5 and is survived by Pita Lopez (Randall), Ricky Gallegos, Michael Gallegos, Dorothy Segura (Joe), Theresa Barela, and Christina Gallegos. Her strength and independence were remarkable. She found joy in life, especially in places like the canyon, the beach and wherever her family gathered. She always saw the goodness in everyone, and her unwavering support extended to both friends and family. She earned her certification in Office Information Systems from Salt Lake Community College. When it came to basketball, she was a loyal Jazz fan. Her legacy is one of beautiful memories, and she leaves behind a family of whom she was immensely proud. Services will be conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church located at 450 E. 2100 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84115. A visitation will precede the service from 10:30 – 12:30 pm.
