I was just googling Professor Slade's name as I had him for a class in the '60s. I was sad to read of his passing. I had him for only one semester, third semester French. He was a great teacher and I remember the class fondly.

I just found this and wanted everyone to know I am so sorry I could not be there. Love to Uncle Keith and to all. You are all in my heart
I was just looking up dates for the Paris 1986 BYU study abroad when I found this sight. Mr. Slade took me along as a T.A. for the conversation portion - more to get me to France than for me to teach anyone:) I didn't get to know him very intimately, but he was the most mellow person I met during my entire time as a student at BYU. He was also very forgiving as far as grades were concerned:). He was the perfect chaperone for a group of young people discovering the world, especially since his own love for the city and especially the historic buildings was genuine and infectious. His happy gentle smile and gentle personality will always be part of the most magical memories of my life.
BION I'm irmpseesd! Cool post!
Keith was a great teacher--he seemed to know everything right on the tip of his tongue. I learned to love French history and culture in his class, and now I teach that class at BYU.
When my wife and children and I were living in France, we got to meet Keith's son who was serving a mission in Lille.
We express our profound sympathies to the whole family.
Dear Slade family, I have dear memories of Dr. Slade! I took an Old Testament class from him about 1979. From that class I really learned to appreciate the Bible. What a great teacher he was. My prayers are with you. Jennie Hurlbut
Sister Slade and Family, I learned only today (May 24) of Keith's passing. I send my heartfelt condolences.
I remember Keith as one of the most congenial of colleagues in the BYU Department of French and Italian. What a voracious reader he was! He and I shared a dorm room on the outskirts of Paris for a few days on one of his many Study Abroad programs. He delighted in showing me around Paris, and I later imitated his famous walking tour with my own Study Abroad students.
Keith's legacy lives on, not only in family members but also in the lives of the many students he touched.
Blessings, Madison Sowell
Iris, I am sorry to read about your loss. May those truths we learn in the temple strengthen you and your family during this dificult time. Love, Judy Elsner, your early Wednesday morning temple sister.
My condolances to the family. I was privileged to enjoy a study abroad to Paris with Brother Slade the summer of 1982. I have fond memories of him, his wonderful humor, his knowledge of all things french. I was also the Secretary of the French & Italian Dept. at BYU from 1983-1988 and so enjoyed further association with him. He was a lovely person and will be missed by many I am certain.
Dear Slade family, Keith was my colleague at BYU for many years. I remember his knowledge, sense of humor, and love for reading. I am also an avid reader, and he often suggested me book titles, then we talked about them. I send all of you my most sincere sympathy. Cinzia D. Noble
