What a privilege to hear Suzanne tell me in the summer of '57 that she had just met this great guy, Jack Matkin, "with a terrific singing voice " at BYU and they were soon to marry. They became admirable parents, instilling enduring principles in their five highly achieving children. We all grieved with Jack and family when Suzanne died in 1985.He managed to fill the rest of his life with challenging work, enviable travel and always being the families' beloved patriarch. When Jo and I were fortunate to see him in May, Jack's last words to us were, "Thirty -seven years". The wait is now over.
