Jack A. Wilson's Obituary
Jack A. Wilson, 73, of Clearfield, Utah, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from complications of Covid-19.
He was born August 18, 1947 to Jack and Mary Wilson in Salt Lake City, Utah. He lived his entire life in Utah. He was a graduate of Clearfield High School and the Seminary program. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many church callings throughout his life with his favorite calling being that of a Boy Scout leader. He was a great mentor to many youth throughout his life and enjoyed all things sports.
Jack retired in 2004 from Hill Air Force Base where he worked in the IT field for Defense Information Systems Agency. He then went back as a Contractor to DISA before ending his career as a Substitute teacher and bus driver for St. Joseph’s Catholic High School. He truly enjoyed working for the school where he took the kids to all their athletic events. He also enjoyed watching the heart of the young kids while playing their sports. He was an avid Golfer and a lover of the Green Bay Packers. There wasn’t a person who met Jack that didn’t instantly love him. He couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone he knew, and a 5 minute milk run would turn into an hour long trip because he always took the time to stop and talk with just about anyone. He was a surrogate father to many of his girls’ friends absolutely crying when they all graduated from High School for fear he wouldn’t see them as often as he was blessed too. Jack always had a way of making anyone he came in to contact with feel special and he valued each and every friendship he had.
He is survived by his wife, Susan, whom he was married to for 53 beautiful years. She was his everything and you would always see them holding hands. They shared a love that is very rare.
His favorite role was that of being a father to 4 girls. Lisa Maze (Mike), Melanie Gibson (Jeff), Carol Deskins (Gary) and Nina Flynn (John). He had 12 grandkids with a great grand baby on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mary Wilson, his in-laws Gilbert and Clara Darrah and his daughter Heidi.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 2:30pm at Clearfield City Cemetery 1050 S. State St. Clearfield, Utah.
In light of Covid-19. Please wear a mask and social distance to help keep everyone safe. We would love to share in hugs however, we will hold off on that until a safer time.
