It's almost been a year and I miss this man more than anything. He was always just a phone call away to help me with any problems or questions I had. Whether it was a life question or a God question...he was so so smart and very wise. He lived a life that was hard and he overcame a lot and I love having his example that guides me to want to improve and be better. I love you Dad! I can't wait until we meet again, to see you standing on the other side of the veil with your arms wide open to welcome me.

Oh how we love Jim and Naida! We will always treasure our sweet Albuquerque friends .. they showed us by example how to be true deciples of our Savior Jesus Christ. Jim was a good friend to young people, they loved him because he would provide a safe place to chat.. one young man would rather sit with them at church than his own family! Jim loves his children, he talked of them often he is so proud of their goodness and success. We felt like we already knew them when we met some of them. It was a pleasure to visit Jim and Naida often they always had plenty to share... Taking them to store was an adventure, if I lost them I would head to the candy isle their cart would be full to restock at home! (Mostly Dove Chocolate) no one ever left empty handed! We miss hearing them honk as they passed our house, it always put a smile on our face. Having them for dinner was always a time to learn a new game.. cards or domino's. Our hearts are full of love and gratitude for their friendship. Sending our prayers of peace and comfort to all of Jim's family, you're all wonderful. Love Chet & Jeanette

We got to know Jim and Naida when we first moved to Canton. Funny thing is he recognized me right away. The first time we were in church he heard our last name and then saw me walking away from him. From my backside he could tell that I was the son of Clive Jorgensen. You see, my father was his major professor in graduate school and apparently I share a distinctive mannerism and appearance when walking away.

He welcomed us to Ohio warmly and kindly and became good friends. Our family was fortunate enough to earn some of his well know nicknames. Our one year old daughter was "Cheeks" which he gave her the first day when he saw her smile. and my wife was always "Tex" since that is where she was from.

To Jim's family, we will always remember Jim and Naida for their love and service to others. We wish you well and hope you are blessed at this time.

I had the honor to serve Jim for most of the time he was at Reid's Park Place Assisted Living. He was always quick to thank us for any service we rendered. He enjoyed time with his family and missed his wife. He loved watching sports on television, and we stocked the gold wrapped Werther's Original candies pretty much just for him. One of my favorite moments was when he would tell us we were, "top drawer". He was a good man and will be missed, but I'm glad he's with his wife now.

I got the chance to meet Jim in his later years through his son and namesake, who is a dear friend and a good man himself. Very glad I was able to meet him and get to know Jim before he passed on. He couldn’t golf with us by the time I met him, but we had many a chat as he rode in the golf cart along with us. His good and caring son would bring him along to enjoy the scenery and fresh air and companionship. Jim’s mind was sharp and his memory clear, and it was an honor and privilege to get to know him—good and honorable man...you could sense that from him immediately. Will miss seeing him on the course, but glad to know he is reunited with his sweetheart. My heart goes out to the Brooks family—good and dear people all.

I knew James and Naida thru church . When they lived in Albuquerque it was fun to go visit and learn about their lives. Naida always sent me home with goodies for my kids. I would go over to their house and help James book their flight reservations. I enjoyed their company and friendship so much. I've already been missing them. It's comforting to know they are reunited. Prayers and love to all the family.

Growing up across the street I have many fond memories of him. Mr. Brooks was probably the most calm person I have ever known. He and my dad can swap stories again now. Hugs to the entire family.

What a magnificent, kind, considerate, and loving man Jim is. A man of faith. A man who loves his family. A man who not only endured, but endured well all that life threw at him. A man who is now rejoined with his sweetheart, is free from the confines and limitations of his well-used and worn out body. What a true honor it was to know, love, and serve him.
