James Phillip Carroll's Obituary
James Phillip Carroll, born Oct. 15, 1939 to Kline and Mary Carroll, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 11, 2025 at the age of 85. He lived most his life in South Jordan Ut. With his loving wife and best friend Sharon Brown Carroll, whom preceded him in death.
Phil graduated from Jordan High School and married his High School sweetheart Sharon, in 1959. Phil and Sharon were married 62 years before her passing. Their nick names for each other were "Big Red and Brownie". Phil was Sharon's loving caretaker for 7 years while she suffered from dementia. Phil was adamant Sharon would never go into a care center and He kept that promise while battling his own health issues.
Phil proudly served in the US Navy for 4 years. He was a devoted Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, great Grandfather and great great Grandfather.
Phil loved golfing when he was younger and watching lots of golf until his passing. He loved to ride his gold-wing motorcycle with all his friends and his wife Sharon and always talked about their Canada trip. He loved following on FB his sons travels on their Harleys. He loved solving crossword puzzles. Most of his career he drove truck and was known as "Big Red" to his CB buddies.
Phil was preceded in death by his Parents,
brother William Carroll, wife Sharon and daughters Michelle Talbot and Danielle Jones. Phil is survived by his sister Sandy Webb, son Chris (Kim), son Casey (Torey) son in law Jeff Jones, 10 Grandchildren, 27 great Grandchildren and 5 great great Grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025 from 6-8 pm at the LDS church located at 1239 West Country Creek Dr., South Jordan, UT. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 17, 2025 where family and friends may visit at 10 am followed by Funeral services at 11 am at the LDS church located at 1239 West Country Creek Dr., South Jordan, UT.
