James Arnold Elwood's Obituary
James Arnold Elwood passed away unexpectedly on Sept.30,2022, one day after his 68th birthday. James was born Sept.29,1954 in Ogden, Utah to Vernon Elwood and Uarda Hansen Elwood.
James enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and collecting antique items. In his younger years, James loved playing baseball.
After school years, James was employed by Ogden Iron Works. When they closed he became a very talented carpenter. He worked for Keir Corporation where he sustained a serious lung injury. He continued carpentry work on several restaurants in the Ogden area. He worked for his uncle Lon renovating older homes. He enjoyed being around his grandparents and uncle Ted doing work on their family farm.
James was cared for in two assisted living centers for several years. He was with Aspen Care Center, then moved to Garden Assisted Living where he passed. James enjoyed doing puzzles, leather work, sudoku and crossword puzzles. The family thanks the doctors, nurses, Hospice, aids and social workers.
James is survived by 3 siblings. Alan (Diana), Betty (Gary), and Lynn (Jimmy), several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, several aunts and uncles. James will be missed dearly but now will be with many of those he loved dearly.
A private graveside services will be held Oct. 20,2022, in the Bear River city cemetery for immediate family. Family and friends can share memories and condolences at Premier Funeral Services.
