James "Jim" Van Gilbert's Obituary
Jim Van Gilbert born June 16, 1953 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 19, 2026. He is survived by his sons Jason, Jarred, Justin and their families and friends. He was raised by his father George Gilbert and mother Delylla Gilbert in the Salt Lake City County. He met his wife Debra Emms, had 5 beautiful kids and multiple fun/loving grandkids.
He loved going fishing, hunting and anything to do with his hands. He was a hardworking man who always provided for his family. He loved making everyone laugh, being a very kind and social person to everyone he meets. He loved making sure his kids had everything they needed and didn’t have to worry. I remember his BBQ he would always make, that is one thing I will miss about him. He was a great man but an amazing father.
I know he is finally at peace, gets to be free in the sky with our mother Debra, our beautiful sister Jamie, and our brother Jeremy. I know they are having the best time seeing each other. I can’t wait to be a part of that party and see them again.
He will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
