right now i need to pay my respects to a man who has been a real inspiration in my life, and a real good friend as i was growing up ,this amazing man is James Marsden, i would like to thank him personally for all his help with me as a young man ,and i really appreciated his loving ,kindness ,he gave unto me ,and especially for considering me a true friend,but i cant tell him personally cause i just found out he had passed away at age 51 reason for ,i don't know the reason, james was and always been a true believer in the lds faith ,is were i had first met him and his awesome wife angie i got to learn some amazing things about him, he started as a singer in a christian style music group called envoy ,i was so impressed with his real cool recording studio ,was the first time i had seen one close,over years he let me sit in an listen while recording, was great, even let me record a song i wrote ,but told me it wasn't for me ,at least he was truthful,james moved on to bigger things i heard he produced a lot a big singer,s even got tgirl bit t bailey player for utah jazz,a album of his own, and also got thirl to join the lds faith i though that was real special, any way i could go on for ever ,but i really want to tell james up in heaven how much he was appreciated and loved unconditionally,a real true friend ,until we meet again my brother, i no our savior will keep u with him cause u are truly the most faithful,spiritual,and most kind hearted man i have been blessed to of had the chance to know,and angie to you and your children i am so sorry for your loss but james will alway look upon you guys ,i remember the love you both had and still have for one another ,that is one the biggest reasons i love to come visit you both angie keep ur head up ,stay strong ,and no this ,james is going to be in the hearts of so many,for ever amen ,i love and will truly miss you my friend you are truly a great man,

I am heart-broken to hear of James' passing, although I am glad that he is now freed from the pain & frustrating health issues that he'd been going through. As I said on Facebook, James was one of the finest men that I've ever had the privilege to know. Sadly, I hadn't seen him much over many years, but at one point he had a huge influence & impact on my life. After his own LDS mission he help me to prepare to serve one & became a very good friend. Then after I returned from my mission & I had come home from college for a summer break, James called me to be his counselor in an Elder's Quorum in a single's ward that I had never attended. That first Sunday at the meetings I met the wonderful woman that would eventually become my wife. So I have always been thankful for him following his promptings & thus being a tool in the Lord's hands to guide me to my dear Stephanie ! Interestingly, the Lord called James back home just the day before Steph & my wedding anniversary. Years later when Steph was looking for at an apartment for us to move down from Logan to SLC, she was surprised to see that the photos on the walls of the apartment the manager was showing her, were of you, Angie, & James ! Then we ended up stepping into your old callings in the YM & YW programs in the local ward, I appreciated the friend & example that James always was & I give all of his family my deepest condolences, prayers, & sympathy.

I had the privilege of working with James at Talk2 for a couple of years. I say a couple of years referring to calendar years but the volume of hours we spent together over those years made it feel like many years. James was super kind to me from the start. I loved spending time with him at work (he made it a better place), at his home, in his yard, and in his incredible home studio. I loved running into him at mutual friend's parties, receptions, etc. since those days working together professionally. I enjoyed a good conversation with him recently at a restaurant. I'm blessed to have James as a friend! I'm grateful for our Savior and our Redeemer - James knows and loves Him, too. We will meet up again. My prayers and thoughts remain with the Marsden family.

I will miss my friend James profoundly, but I am happy that he can rest for a while. He deserves a break. He was one of the best singers I have ever heard - on any record label. I marveled at his ability to play the piano by ear. That was truly a God-given talent because he could play with the best of them. I had the great privilege of singing with him a few times.

I would sometimes get annoyed at how happy he was all the time. I always thought he knew some secret the rest of us didn't. That was, in fact, true. He knew how to be happy, even during times of struggle. He was one of the kindest people I have ever known. He would give me things out of the blue. One time he gave me a new golf club, just because he had it and I was standing there. Another time he let a friend of mine come over and James edited several songs my friend had recorded. After we were done he refused any payment.

Not too long ago we went to a late movie. We talked about some business plans. Every time we spoke he was investigating something new. I could never quite keep track of him. It was like chasing a cheetah.

Angie, Rachel and Natalie - I don't need to tell you he loved you more than words. I have a feeling he might ask for special permission to continue to watch out for you in ways that sometimes his health didn't allow while he was here with us. He was a great husband and father, an example to me and many others, ridiculously talented, and he was my friend. I'm a better man for having known him.

James, shake things up a little. It's time heaven heard some Billy Joel. Take care, my friend.

I was introduced to James when he called our office looking for some legal work to be done for Mentors International. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him on a very creative project that he had constructed for Mentors. I was a little surprised, however, when he sent me a text one afternoon asking if I wanted to go see a movie with him that same afternoon. I was a little suspicious that he had mistakenly sent the message to me instead of another guy named Dave (which turned out to be the case!). However, a movie sounded a lot better than working at the office, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to get to know James better, so I accepted James' mistaken invitation. That movie (Ironman 2) was the beginning of what turned out to be a cherished friendship. My friendship with James has led me to other friendships which I hold in the highest of value.

I will miss James always calling at fairly random times to go see a movie. I will miss James threatening (in a supposedly joking manner) to tell the world about rumors he heard about me as a teenager from his brother in law, Agbor, unless I went somewhere with him or ran some random errand. I will miss going hunting and ATV'ing with him up in Cache County. I will miss listening to his next business idea. I will miss his goodness (he always wanted to do and be good). I will miss listening to him play the piano. I will miss James and everything that made him "James".

Godspeed, James! I am so grateful to have been considered your friend. Till we meet again...
