James Tracy Rees' Obituary
Our beloved James Tracy Rees, born on November 6, 1986, returned home to his Heavenly Father on June 21, 2022. He is the youngest son of Jill Tracy Frandsen (Riverdale) and Daniel Glen Rees (West Haven). James was raised in North Ogden and was educated at Bates Elementary, North Ogden Junior High, and Weber and Clearfield High Schools.
James was a jack of all trades and was known as a very hard worker. At the age of 14, he started his own landscaping business and was known for his strong work ethic. He always worked hard in spite of some health issues. He worked in roofing, construction, commercial construction sales, and as a ranch hand in Malta, Idaho. His favorite and most recent job was landscaping alongside his Uncle Kevin Tracy whom he loved and looked up to.
James had a big heart and always gave things his all. He worked hard, but knew how to play hard too. He enjoyed the outdoors more than anything, especially Yost, Utah. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, dirt biking, classic cars (especially Mustangs), and most of all, spending time with his kids. He was always “the fun uncle,” showing off his inner child with tricks and flips on the trampoline, or showing off on his unicycle. He would try almost anything once. He rode a bull in the rodeo with zero experience, had a hole in one at "The Barn" golf course, and most recently, participated in The Widowmaker hill climb on his dirt bike; just another one of his bucket list adventures.
James was known for his kind heart and would often help people anonymously. If he thought someone needed the last dollar he had, he would freely give it.
James’s advice for his loved ones would be to go fishing, consider driving a Ford, treat yourself to a Coke, hug your loved ones tight, and don't let your past spoil the present.
James is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fern and Shirl Tracy, Daniel William Rees, Terrell Rees Mifflin, and Aunt Shauna Mifflin. He is survived by his parents, Daniel Glen Rees and Jill Tracy Frandsen, his brothers, Terrell (Melissa) Rees, Derek (Tammy) Rees, his daughters, Hailey and Hanna, and his sons Kemmer and Trace James.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on June 29, 2022 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Premier Funeral Home in Roy. A graveside tribute will follow at the West Point Cemetery 11:00 am.
