The Shupes were our cross the street neighbors for 25 years. We have dozens of wonderful memories of the goin ons at the Shupes and the Lyells. We had a funny story involving something that we witnessed with Danny when he was a teenager and ended with Gary and I covered with milkshake. For years afterwards evert time I saw Wright he would ask me to retell the story and we would laugh and laugh. Wright was always there to lend a helping hand from pumping out water beds to triming a bush. We love the Shupe family and appreciate the friendship of the whole family. Thinking back on my memories with grandpa I cannot think of a bad time, he would always make me feel welcome and loved, some of my earliest memories of him would have to be working on the farm with him and my dad (danial). Tilling the field, mowing the grass, or trimming the fruit trees that he loved so much, grandpa was always there. About thirteen years ago me and my dad had some stuff to build for company, grandpa said we could build it there, one of the projects was a large staircase for a asphalt plant, grandpa and grandma would come down everyday to see the progress and every time grandpa would comment that we were building a stairway to Heaven.
My grandpa was my hero, he taught one of my other heroes (danial)to be the man he is who intern taught me to be the man I am, Your legacy will continue through the generations, the name James right Shupe will not soon be forgotten!
Until we meet again grandpa watch over us and protect us. “ Has anyone told you they loved you yet today? Consider it done!”

If you ever needed a tool or help assembling something Bro. Shupe was the person to go to.
There are too many memories to share them all, but a few that standout to me are:
vacation with the Shupe family to Banff Canada.
Christmas skit when Bro. Shupe was in the bishopric (one person is the head and feet, while the other is the hands, great fun).
Drag racing in front of Shupe's home where my father put the car in reverse and almost lost the transmission. "R" is for race right?
It was always the Shupe, Stones and Jamison families together for some event or another.
Visiting him and the Shupe family at the church while they were cleaning.
Sleeping over at the Shupe's while my younger sister was being born.
The time Sis. Shupe had my dad assemble an edger supposedly for Bro. Shupe for Christmas, only to later find out it was for my father rather than Bro. Shupe.
When my father passed away, it was hard to see the feeling of loss Bro. Shupe felt. This is just the sense of family that was and is felt with the Shupe family when you visited.
Hardest working man I ever knew. He will be truly missed.

I wonder what new memories are being formed on the other side with my father now?
