Jana Lyn Peay Keetch's Obituary
Jana Lyn was born on October 28, 1970, in Murray, Utah. She was placed in the arms of Neil and Sharon Peay on November 2, 1970. That was a very wonderful day for the 3 of them. Though her health wasn’t very good, death wasn’t on anyone’s minds. This sudden loss brings heavy hearts and much sorrow.
Jana went to kindergarten and first grade in Roy, Utah. She attended Forbes Elementary School for 2nd through 6th grade. Her 7th and 8th grades were at American Fork Junior High School.
She loved music even at a very early age; we called her our little Mozart. She got a little piano (toy one but it worked) at the age of 2 and boy did she plunk on those keys! While living in Roy, she taught her school friends piano lessons at the age of 5. She played by ear, and it wasn’t till later that she took piano lessons and tried to learn to read notes. She would prefer to just play by ear.
The family moved to Mesa, Arizona, and she attended Dobson High School for 9th grade. She had the privilege that year of being the pianist for the Concert Choir. She loved it.
Upon moving back to Utah, she finished her school years at American Fork High school.
Jana was a certified CNA, certified EMT and then went on to get her RN degree in nursing. After receiving her degree, she tried multiple different nursing fields such as labor and delivery, working on ambulance runs, and also working in hospice. She eventually found her niche working with the geriatric community in skilled nursing homes. She thoroughly loved working with the elderly people in these places.
She had to give up her nursing career when her health started to decline. It pained her to have to do so, but her body just wouldn’t allow her to work.
She was married and later divorced. She had three children, who were the total love of her life. When her grandson Dravyn was born, he took a big portion of that love. Then other grandchildren came along, and she loved them so much. Jana loved all of her grandchildren.
Jana is survived by her parents, Neil & Sharon Peay, her three children, Klarysa Nettles, Jaren Devey (Christine), and Raychel Keetch, eight grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew, many aunts and uncles.
Jana was preceded in death by Daryl, her only sibling, and both sets of grandparents.
Throughout her 52 years, some years were happy, some were bumpy, some very rough and some lonely. She was a very strong, independent person with a BIG HEART OF GOLD. She would help strangers and made many friends because of her kindness.
(Her Mother writes that they finally had become best of friends. She will miss their daily talks, visits and texts. Jana was great to check up on her old parents or just share what her latest project was. The two of them really enjoyed their get out of the house gad-abouts to All a Dollar or wherever. Her mom says she may even miss the many, many, many late-night runs to the ER where just the two of them spent many hours together.)
Jana will be missed by many, her parents, her children, her grandchildren, family members, and her friends.
She is now out of her pain and suffering. Her body has gone through a lot, and it finally had enough and quit. She is with loved ones that have passed on.
Till we meet again, love you always.
