Janalee Davis
1966 - 2019
On Monday, December 30th, 2019, Janalee Davis, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 53 in Layton, Utah, surrounded by those who loved her.
Janalee was born on October 14th, 1966 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ronald and Beverly Dennis. She graduated from Layton High School in June 1985 and Fran Brown Beauty College in 1990. She served a Latter Day Saint Mission in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala; November 1987 to May 1989. On August 9th 1991 she married the love of her life, Cory Davis in the Jordan River Latter Day Saint Temple. Janalee and Cory raised four children; Trevor Davis, Andrea Davis Oettinger, Kelsi Davis Barnes, and Morgan Davis.
Janalee spent her years working with children as an ESL Tutor for the Davis School District and as a Daycare teacher. She enjoyed her callings in primary and young women’s. Janalee had a passion for teaching and enriching the minds of her own children and the children around her.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with family. She spent her summers at the family cabin and on many treasured vacations. Janalee loved being outdoors; camping, hiking, and sight-seeing with her family.
Janalee treasured her family and always put their needs before her own. She spent her life helping others better themselves. She loved the Gospel and incorporated it in every aspect of her life and taught her family to do the same.
She was preceded in death by her father Ronald Griggs Dennis, her mother Beverly Ann Dennis, her Uncle Hal, Aunt Dixie, Uncle Dean and Aunt Dolores and her sister-in-law Kelly. She is survived by her siblings Rhonda Hensley, Alan Dennis, Diane Love, and Dwayne Dennis; her husband Cory Davis and her children Trevor Davis, Andrea Davis Oettinger and her husband Ryan Oettinger and an unborn grandchild, Kelsi Davis Barnes and her husband Hunter Barnes, and Morgan Davis.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, January 6, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 60 West Gordon Avenue, Layton, Utah with a viewing prior to services from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Interment at Lindquist Layton Cemetery, 1867 North Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah.
