Ja'nelle Jo'ssette Dixon Mason's Obituary
As Ja'nelle Jo'ssette Dixon Mason I made my entrance on April 4th 1969,to Eartis and Carolyn Dixon and completed my story on 2013.
I'd like to think that God gave me several roles to play, but some I enjoyed and excelled at better than others: Wife of 13 years to Anthony L. Mason, Sr., meant I got to be a mother to Anthony L. MasonJr.,step), Tai Joshua Mason, and A'mani Ruth Mason. Difficult roles, but fun especially when they kept changing the script on me! Always let your children surprise you. Sometimes you need it.
I was a proud member of O. E. S. Queen Esther Chap#2, I enjoyed several God given opportunities and accomplishments including the Community work with the Order, Calvary Baptist Church, West High Improvisational Troupe, Graduation from the Actor Training Program at the University of Utah with a bachelors degree of fine arts , and so many other areas that I cannot count. God is as Good to us as we are to Him and yet He finds ways to give us an even bigger part of the pie! My Step father Lloyd Bass has been a real teacher in sharing what you have and sharing what you can,
So I also got sisters Carolyn Smith (Shelley, Courtney), Della Johnson (Daniel, Se'miya, Daniel Michael) and Natasha Bass. Lastly, I hope that I took good notes and followed the examples of my Grandmother Esther Williams, Grandfather Eddie Williams, Uncle John Williams, and my big brother Michael Dixon, and father Eartis Dixon and went through all of the pain, and medication, and all this dreary disease throws at you with what I call the ultimate of Grace. When you can't stop the critter, grab it by the neck, step on its head, find some really pretty beads, and wear it as jewelry!!!!
Thanks to Dr. Jon Weis, and Nicole Orgain , Huntsman Cancer Hospital. Thanks to all of you who gave care, fed my children and my husband, and did my laundry. But, I'm just not needed until act 3 OUR Grand finale! I will see you there and you better have some great jewelry on!!
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 8 at 11:00 am at the Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 South State, Salt Lake City, Utah. Family and friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 prior to the services.
