Mom, it’s been 1,096 days since you left to be with Jesus. Knowing this has made each day a little easier for all of us. “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her.” Luke 1:45

Oh yes, I knew Jan Brown very well. My wife and I ate in her home a bunch of times. Whenever there was a need at HVPC, you could count on Jan to show up and help, or provide food for the Texans!!! Such a warm and pleasant person!! In heaven now!!

This woman was a leading example of selflessness. Growing up she would take me to my favorite restaurant every time we visited Moab. Without question, it was known we would eat at this place if we went to Moab. She finally admitted she didn't care for the food years later when we quit frequenting Moab. She probably ate there 50 times just for me! She did everything in her power to make her family happy.
My mom made Salt Lake City her home but her roots were in Boulder and Estes Park.
I cherish every trip I made with my mom back to the places where she grew up because she would share more of her many wonderful childhood memories with each visit. In recent years, we never missed an opportunity to stop by my late great-grandparents homes where she felt closest to them. She often said how lucky she was to be surrounded by so much family during her upbringing and that she always felt loved.
I was the lucky one....I got to call you Mom.
Grandma Jan was always there ever since I can remember. She taught me to write, to sew, to garden, to watch Stargate, to care, and to be the best dressed.
The day after she passed, I heard MercyMe's "I Can Only Imagine" on the radio. At one part the lyrics say:
"Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?"
I just said to myself, "I know what she did. She was beyond happy, she danced, in awe she was still, she stood and to her knees she fell, sang hallelujah, and she spoke to Him.
One thing she was proud of was her faith. I remember hearing about when she got baptized. She was proud, she was happy, she was full of energy and ready to continue learning.
Even though I could write about her forever, no language has the expression to tell about this incredible woman.
I won't see you for a very long time and I love you grandma
Oh Mom, this was such a great moment and your beautiful face says it all in this picture of you holding Jophie. I was so blessed to have you as my mother, I love you. Heather
