My cousin Janice was my first friend and being just a few months older than I, she was like my first sister. We shared our childhood, teen years laughing, playing and dreaming of the future. We rejoiced at the birth of our children. We cried together in widowhood. She was always there for me. I can hardly fathom life without her. She never complained, was invariably optimistic. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang at her own wedding. Most of all, she loved her children and especially loved her grandchildren. She went to Heaven unafraid. I miss her so much but rejoice she is pain free and singing and laughing.
