Javen Ryan "Bug" Welcher's Obituary
Javen Ryan “Bug” Welcher, 17, was tragically taken from us on November 1, 2025. Born on July 12, 2008, in Murray, Utah to Jennifer Lopez-Diaz and William Joseph Welcher. Javen was known for his “bougie” style and handsome smirk. He was quick-witted and loved making people smile. He was passionate about basketball and had dreams of being a barber. Bug had a mind for marketing and entrepreneurship. He was a fierce protector of his family and could often be found picking on his older brother. He had an adventurous spirit and was open minded to exploring new things. He was our light in the darkness and had so much life ahead of him.
Javen is survived by his parents; Jenni and Billy; His siblings Braiden “Bubba” Welcher, Kelsey Burkhardt, Jacee Welcher, Joey Keddington, and Deven Bowman; his grandma and grandpa Ridgeway, his grandma Harding, and many aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends. Javen was called home to be with his grandma Rosie Welcher, as well as additional family.
For anyone wishing to attend, a viewing will be held at Premier Funeral Services at 67 East 8000 South, Salt Lake City on Wednesday November 5, 2025, at 11 AM with funeral to follow at 12 PM.
Javen’s warmth, generosity, and support for others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We will miss you more than anything, Javen Bug. We love you.
