Our hearts are with you as we know "Andrus Kaicho" will be deeply missed in Kushiro. Our son Braden is a missionary in that district and often spoke of the president's wonderful family and what a great example he has been to him personally. May Heavenly Father give strength and comfort to your dear family.
Sister Tomomura, I am quite sure that you do not remember me but I remember your kindness to the missionaries serving in Kushiro when I served there 30 years ago. You have my heartfelt sympathy. I pray that your sadness may be somewhat lessened by the knowledge that the example of you and your family have shown to others has been for our benefit, and many are praying for you.
I feel deep sorrow for losing a cousin so soon after losing an uncle, his father. Jay was young when they moved away from Draper. His oldest sister Marie, kept us informed through the years of Jay and the rest of the family. He will be missed on this side of the veil. God bless his wife, children, and branch in Japan.
Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with Mami and her sons at this time. Jay left a significant legacy of valiant, talented sons and faithful service to English students and LDS Church members in Kushiro, Japan. His humor, talent, and good works will be sorely missed. We have an abiding faith that he has moved on to a better, higher existence and looks down on all of us with love.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Andrus family. I met Jay at the MTC when we were headed to our missions in Hawaii. He was so talented and such a fun guy. It sounds like he has had a wonderful life. Aloha nui loa, Friend.
