Jay Edward McBride's Obituary
Jay Edward McBride, 67, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully at home in the company of his wife after a courageous fight with cancer.
Born on December 4th, 1958, he was the child of Marlene and Jay F. McBride. Known for his relentless work ethic, he worked as a mechanic and tow truck driver until he retired in December of 2025.
Jay was known for having the tenderest heart and for being the hardest worker. He loved spending time with his family, whether it was taking drives with his wife, Danna, being around (and teasing) his grandkids, hanging out with his dogs, camping with his extended family, or bringing joy by playing Santa. He was known for helping anyone with anything, whether it was lending a neighbor tools, providing an extra hand, or helping with anything car-related.
He is survived by his spouse, Danna McBride, his children, Travis Edward McBride, Vivian Anne (Jeremy) Bell, Matthew Max (Karyn) Ostermiller, Robert Jay (Jordy) McBride, and Nathan William McBride, his grandchildren, Terra Nav, Elise McBride, Kayla McBride, Alivia Ostermiller, Brynlee Ostermiller, and Colton Ostermiller and his siblings, Patty (Glen) Paulsen, Dennis (Josyne) McBride, Brent (Margaret) McBride. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Marlene and Jay F. McBride.
Jay was cared for by the Huntsman Cancer Institute, prolonging his days and providing him with more quality time to do the things he loved, like spending time with his wife and family.
The family requests that any monetary donations be sent to lung cancer research at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (https://give.huntsmancancer.org/page/67433/donate/1), in hopes of helping to find a cure.
