Jeannine Hendricks 1935-2025
Catherine Jeannine Thompson Hendricks was born March 3, 1935 in Clarkston, Cache County, Utah. She passed away March 22 at home at the age of 90. Jeannine was the tenth of twelve children born to Newel Rendell and Amy Heggie Griffiths Thompson. She married Lloyd Orren Hendricks on October 1, 1953. They had five children: Kevin, Brent, Hope, Jeanette, and Rick.
Jeannine was very talented in many crafts such as quilting, scrapbooking, embroidering, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She was dedicated to her genealogy work that spanned most of her adult life. She also bowled for many years, even competing in 35 national bowling tournaments. She loved to collect coins, stamps, thimbles, pins, and other trinkets.
Jeannine served in many church callings, but her favorite was leading the singing for Primary. She also enjoyed working in the Salt Lake Temple as an ordinance worker and coordinator.
Jeannine is preceded in death by her son Brent, husband Lloyd, and son-in-law Rod Thomas. She is survived by her sister Kathy, her children Kevin (Jan), Hope (Rico), Jeanette, and Rick, 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank Jeannine’s hospice team who treated her with much kindness and respect. We also thank her son Rick who lovingly cared for her for the last several years of her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 12 at the Rose Park North Stake Center, 1155 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City (south side of building). Visitation at 10:00 a.m., Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m.
