Jeff Mounteer's Obituary
Jeff Mounteer passed away gracefully in the early morning on February 19th, 2024
at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. He was surrounded by loved ones and all of
his immediate family who were there with him as he transitioned peacefully over to
the other side.
Jeff was born on February 23rd, 1962 to parents Faye Mitchell Mounteer and
Richard Claude Mounteer at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in
Draper and Sandy Utah, and attended Jordan High School before graduating from
Alta High School in 1980. At Alta High School he was a stand-out athlete excelling
as a running back in football, center field in baseball, and as a sprinter in track and
field events. Jeff lettered and was selected as first team All-State for both football
and baseball and was also elected as the Junior Class Vice President in 1978 -
1979.
Jeff was a loving father to Brandon and Ryan Mounteer. He was married to his
soulmate, Karin Mounteer, on August 31st, 2002. They lived in Alpine, Utah before
building their home in Heber City; a place they have happily called home for more
than 20 years. In 2007, Jeff and Karin started a successful property management
company to help service the burgeoning Heber Valley and surrounding areas,
working happily side-by-side as husband and wife for 17 years.
Jeff had a large presence that filled any room he entered with light, warmth, and
love. Every one that knew him would refer to Jeff as a big teddy bear that gave the
best hugs and would do any thing for his family, his friends, and those he loved. He
was the life of every party and always brought laughter to everyone that was
around him. Jeff had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed riding horses, racing
side-by-sides, adventuring on four-wheelers, boating on the lakes, and skiing and
camping in the mountains.
Jeff is survived by his wife Karin Mounteer, his mother Faye Mounteer, his sons
Brandon and Ryan Mounteer, his step daughters Britni Kulander and Kelsi King, his
older brother Bart Mounteer and sister-in-law Michele Mounteer, his younger
brother Darcy Mounteer and sister-in-law Roslyn Mounteer, and his two
grandchildren Maverick and Easton Mounteer. He is preceded in death by his father
Richard Mounteer, nephew Shane Mounteer, and niece Whitney Mounteer.
