Jeffrey Lynn Hogan
1965 – 2017
Jeffrey Lynn Hogan, born November 9, 1965 in Murray, Utah to Donald Neldon and Myrna LaRae Cook Hogan, passed away September 16, 2017 at the age of 51.
Jeff was raised on Butler Hill, now known as Cottonwood Heights. He attended Brighton High School. Jeff married Lisa B. Banks in 1984. He joined the US Army shortly after. Jeff and Lisa were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1988. Together they had five sons. They later divorced.
Jeff married Allison L. Thompson in 2000; later divorced. Together they had one son and Jeff adopted Allison’s daughter.
Jeff’s passion in life was baseball. Starting at the age of eight, he excelled in baseball. He went on to coach his sons and becoming and umpire. He enjoyed umping Little League and softball games throughout Salt Lake and Utah counties.
Jeff is survived by his sons, Ryan (Autumn), Andrew (Jennifer), Joshua (Rosalinda), Jaren, Spencer, Tyler (Shantisha); daughter, Whitney; step-son, Blake; four granddaughters; four grandsons; parents; brothers, Wesley (Keri), Carl (Brenda), and sister, Barbara (Mike). Preceded in death by his brother, Russell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 22, 2017, 12:00 noon, with a viewing prior to services from 10:30 – 11:45 am, all located at the LDS Brighton Chapel, 2925 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 So.). Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations to help with Jeff’s funeral.
