Jennie Cragun Griffith's Obituary
Jennie Cragun Griffith
1977 - 2022
Jennie Cragun Griffith peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on November 4, 2022 after a tremendous fight with late-stage cancer.
Jennie was born to John Edmund Cragun and Julie Breckenridge Cragun on November 20, 1977 in Provo, UT. She was the oldest of two children. She was the most loving daughter, sister to Andy, and friend. She was a treasure and will be deeply missed by many, but will live on through all those who had the great blessing of knowing her.
Jennie graduated from Utah Valley University with her degree in teaching. She began her teaching career at Central Elementary School in Pleasant Grove, UT where she taught Kindergarten for three years. She then joined her Orem Elementary School family where she taught for 17 years. Jenn loved being a teacher. She was always able to see and understand the individual needs of each student. Her heart ached for the ones who struggled in any way, and she gave her all to help them with whatever they needed. She also celebrated every one of their successes. The little ones in her care knew they were loved.
Jennie was married to her great love, James (Jim) Dennis Griffith on September 2, 2005 in the Mount Timpanogas Utah Temple. Jim was her best friend and her rock through the end. Her other great love was her daughter, Kylie Paige. Jennie loved her family with everything that she was. Her joy came from making the ones she loved happy.
Jennie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her trust in God was deep. She trusted in His plan for her, even when her road was difficult. She carried her burdens with unfailing faith and optimism. No matter what came her way, she would say “I can do this,” “I can do hard things.” This was her motto to the end.
Jennie was the most Christlike individual. The light of Christ burned brightly in her heart. Her life was gladly filled with service, and she continued to think of others through her final day on earth. She was the truest friend to all who knew her. Her co-workers and friends could easily be considered family to her. She lifted and supported wherever she was needed. Jenn understood what it meant to struggle, and because of that, she was eager to help anyone around her who was struggling. She was the first to offer whatever she could to help ease others’ burdens. She loved others in the most genuine way.
Jennie was known for her optimism and gratitude. It never ran out and it was contagious. She found the good in every situation, and was always full of “Thank you, thank you, thank yous” and “I love love love yous.” She never hesitated to show her gratitude, offer a compliment, express her love, and share her beautiful smile.
Jennie is survived by her husband, James Dennis (Jim) Griffith; her daughter, Kylie Paige Griffith; her father, John Edmund Cragun; her brother, John Andew (Andy) Cragun; her grandmother, Donna Breckenridge; her brother-in-law, Matt (Meagan) Griffith; her brother-in-law, Dave (Ranie) Griffith; and her sister-in-law, Missy Griffith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Julie Breckenridge Cragun; her mother and father-in-law, Dennis and Deanna Griffith; her brother-in-law, Kent Griffith; her grandparents, LaVeive Black Breckenridge & Edison Carnot Breckenridge; and her grandparents, Ezma Williamson Cragun and Wilford Rumel Cragun. Her reunion with her mother, who she missed so dearly, must have been the sweetest.
