Jerald Alan Carrington's Obituary
Our kind, gentle husband, father, grandfather, and friend Jerald Alan Carrington (Jerry) passed away from a massive stroke on December 11, 2024 after spending a week in intensive care.
Jerry was born on May 11, 1951 in Tooele, Utah to Keith Wayne Carrington and Alta Barton Carrington.
Jerry married Kathleen (Kay) Krause in 1973 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1988. They have two children: Mindy (Danny Walsh) and Emily (Max Thomas). He has 4 wonderful grandchildren who he loves very much. Taylor Lee (Kamille Panti) Megan Walsh, Jonah Walsh, and Kayte Walsh. He was a fun and loving grandpa.
Jerry has 3 siblings and their spouses: Kathleen and Dean Lamb, Bud and Marilyn Carrington and Joanne Carrington. He has many nieces and nephews who he loves.
Jerry grew up in Granger (West Valley) and graduated from Granger High. After graduating Jerry enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in Antarctica and Cuba during the Vietnam War. He then served in the navy reserves for 2 years while also working at HAFB as an aircraft electrician and then an aircraft inspector before retiring.
Jerry loved to hike, backpack with his friend Dave Hill (they hiked to the top of King’s Peak many times), bicycling (he bicycled through Yellowstone Park with Kay and Joanne), he loved to snow ski and have many other adventures. He also enjoyed hunting with his dear friend Charlie Christensen until Charlie’s passing. Jerry then started hunting again with Danny and Danny’s father Dan Walsh. Jerry also loved to travel with Kay. The Oregon coast was one of his favorite places.
While we miss Jerry more than words can express we grateful that we know that he is reunited with Emily, his parents, sister Kathleen, friends and many other family members that have proceeded him in death
The most important things about Jerry arr his gentleness, his kindness, and his ability to share his love with others.
