Jerald "Jerry" Mark Hellewell's Obituary
Jerald “Jerry” Mark Hellewell, 88, of Murray, Utah, peacefully passed away at home on September 23, 2024.
Born on August 9, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Joseph and Esther Hellewell, Jerry graduated from Olympus High School. While studying, he worked alongside his father in roofing and brick laying. He later joined Hercules, retiring from Sears after a long career. In between, he owned Van Winkles, a bar, and later, a furniture store in Mesquite, NV, before enjoying his role as ‘soft count’ at The Eureka Casino.
Jerry’s life was marked by love and family. He married Ruby Pucci, then Dianne Petrini, followed by Barbara Boone, and finally found his true partner, Linda Gamarra Hellewell, in 1991.
Jerry loved fishing, camping, and traveling. He cherished time spent with family and friends. Known for his resilience and sense of humor, he embraced every adventure in his later years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Linda; daughters Perilee Hutchinson, Brenda Hansen (Mark), Shauna Hellewell (Rich), Tami Zachary (Jim), Breen Hellewell (Emily), Cassie Hellewell, Mitzi Fox (Ike), and Dustin Gamarra. He is also survived by his brother Dick Hellewell; sisters Sherry Sears (Ed) and Barbara Crockett (Leon); and 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who will dearly miss him. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Larae Sharp and Beverly Thompson.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on October 5, 2024 at 3:30 pm at The Salt Lake Center for Spiritual Living, with a reception to follow. Address is 4516 South 700 East, Suite 350 for the Celebration of Life followed by delicious refreshments in Suite 102.
Jerry’s spirit and love for life will remain in our hearts forever.
