What do you say about someone as awesome as "Tonto" aka Jeremy. I met Jer when he was in his teens. I had never met a harder worker or more respectful young man. He lived in our home for a time and what great memories I have of those times; memories I will cherish forever. I stayed in touch, although distant, all these years. I could not have been happier when he told me he had met his one and only "Fancy Face". Oh! how he loved Jess! I watched as he became a husband, then a father ... a spectacular one at that. My love for Jess and the kids just grew and soon I had an even bigger family.
When Kevin passed, I knew Jer would be there for me and he was. He visited, called, offered to help ... whatever I needed. That's just who Jer was.
I can still remember that day in June he called to tell me he had found a sore in his mouth and it was cancer ... we cried together and then we both wiped our tears and talked about how strong he was, and he could fight it. During this time Jess and I grew our friendship and what a remarkable woman she is. She always had Jer's best interests at heart. If it wasn't going to be good for him, she just told you that wouldn't work. Right to the very end, he was her concern.
Jess, I promised Jer on his last day I will always be here for you and kids. I love you as if you are my own and I will always. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of Tonto's final ride, it was such an honor.
I will always love him and you.
