Jeremy Lee Parkin's Obituary
Jeremy Lee Parkin, 44, of South Jordan, Utah passed away on May 16, 2026 while on a bike ride in Heber, Utah.
Jeremy was born July 11, 1981 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Douglas and Carlene Parkin. Jeremy grew up in Riverton and graduated from Copper Hills High School in 1999. He went on to get his Masters from MIT. He thoroughly enjoyed his work in the fields of supply chain management and procurement, most recently working for LastPass.
Jeremy met the love of his life, Kalli, in October 2002 while working together at Blockbuster. They married July 14, 2003. Their daughter Isadora was born October 31, 2006.
Jeremy was incredibly kind and always the first to lend a hand, with a sunny mustachioed smile. He loved baking, always making extra for neighbors and friends. His sense of humor and his witty comebacks were the highest level, he loved making his girls laugh. Isadora and Kalli were the lights of his life, he stopped at nothing to make their lives brighter and better. He never missed one of Kalli’s dance concerts early in their marriage and was at every single dance competition for Isadora, there were hundreds. He was the most patient and supportive dance dad. Although Jeremy enjoyed shining his spotlight on his girls, they adored Jeremy just as much. The bond the three of them shared was strong and special. They loved playing games, going to movies, traveling and hiking in beautiful Utah, and mostly just being together.
Jeremy especially loved cycling. He spent hours in the seat training and riding all over Utah and beyond. He loved riding Butterfield Canyon every few days to the snow line, seeing how much higher he would be able ride each time. He loved cycling with anyone who would join him and he loved doing rides with his team Epic Cycling. He was excited to attempt The Triple Crank this year. He loved routine, Type A fun and being in beautiful mountains, cycling was perfect for his personality and brought him so much joy.
Jeremy and Kalli spent several years as licensed foster parents and had a strong passion for their work in the foster community, fostering 8 kids and building relationships with their families, Jeremy had a tenderness and ease in raising children, he was a natural teacher, he built up each kid who spent time in their home and empowered each child individually. He never stopped loving or caring for them after they reunified with their families and he spoke about every child so lovingly.
Jeremy also had a strong conviction for the treatment of animals, going vegan at 13 years old and holding on to those morals through his life. He cared deeply about worker’s rights and political activism and how those worlds intersected. He was a lifelong learner and never wanted to stay stagnant.
