Jerry Wayne Meyers' Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jerry Wayne Meyers, who was born on September 11, 1951, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Jerry was the son of Floyd and Lona Meyers, the youngest child of three and their only son.
Raised in Pocatello, Jerry attended local schools and developed the strong work ethic and quiet determination that would define his life. He proudly carried on a family tradition by taking over Meyers Shoe Repair, where he worked as a skilled cobbler for many years. Through his craftsmanship, honesty, and dedication, he built lasting relationships with customers who became friends and friends who became family.
Jerry embraced life through the activities he loved most. An avid bowler, he achieved the impressive feat of bowling several perfect games, a testament to his skill and dedication to the sport. He also found great enjoyment on the golf course and in the quiet moments spent fishing. Whether competing with friends, enjoying the outdoors, or simply sharing stories and laughter with those he loved, Jerry treasured the friendships, memories, and simple joys that enriched his life.
One of the greatest blessings of Jerry’s life was becoming a father. He married Jody Faye Morgan, and together they welcomed two sons, Brady and Justin. Though life took them on different paths, Jerry’s love for his sons remained constant. He took immense pride in the men they became and cherished the families they built.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lona Meyers, and his brother-in-law, Garth Wilkins
He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply: his son Brady (Nan) Meyers, Boise; his son Justin (Kandice) Meyers, Layton, Utah; his sisters, Carol (Jim) Liljenquist, Idaho Falls; and Vicky Wilkins, Boise; and his treasured grandchildren, Wyatt, Savannah, and Jaxon, who brought him great happiness and pride.
Jerry will be remembered as a devoted father, loving grandfather, caring brother, loyal friend, and hardworking craftsman. His quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering dedication to those he loved left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind—the stories shared, the lessons taught, the love and laughter enjoyed. His life was a testament to hard work, perseverance, and the importance of family.
Jerry’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will be deeply missed every day.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at 457 Warren Ave Pocatello, ID.
