Jesse Michael McPherron's Obituary
Jesse Michael Sutton McPherron, age 70, returned to his Father in heaven on April 4th, 2024 at 2:04 pm with his wife and son standing by his side.
His passing was totally unexpected. He had peritonitis/sepsis and had fought so hard to stay, but after 2 days his body could not take anymore.
He was born July 11th,1953 in Salt Lake City to Jerry McPherron and Claudine Rozenkrants.
He was the eldest of 4 kids. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1971. One of his jobs was working for “Allied Dev”. He loved working the Christmas tree lot at Christmas time. He was an extremely hard-working man!
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in what they called “A blue suit mission”. You wore blue suits, white shirts, tie , and black shoes. He loved the people of the Atlanta-Geogia mission. He had to go into places where they had “Stills” out in the back woods. Many times he had a shotgun pointed at his head.
He met his wife on a blind date. They were married on June 21st, 1980. Later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 21st, 2001. Dawnie has always been by his side through thick and thin, as was his son.
He went into the Fire Protection Sprinkler Trade Local 669. He worked on a lot of power plants in the states. He hung the sprinklers in the tallest Bldg in Denver Co. Did all the sprinklers on the coal belt at the I.P.P power plant. He had to step away from his trade from being a fitter (and boy was he fit) pulling wrenches, lifting scheduled 40 and 80 pipe 200 feet in the air.
He started his own Window Washing Business. He did private homes and large corp. businesses. He had over 106 Maverik gas stations at one time besides all of his other accounts. Jesse taught his wife and son how to “Swirl a squeegee” and through his many surgeries they stepped in and did all of his accounts. Really fun in the winter when it was 14degrees outside and dipping your hands in water.
Jesse loved meeting people. He would go by someone and say ‘Have a nice day and god bless”.
He had so many trials in his life, and he fought hard to overcome them. But the toughest one was having his left leg amputated. Probably over 35 surgeries he’s had over the years for different things. He had so much hardware in him, his son called him “the Terminator”.
In Over 40 yrs. we only had 2 vacations. Disneyland and then every year we went to Cedar City for the Utah Summer Games. Our adventures were kin to the Chevy Chase movies. Oh, our poor little dogs, what they had to endure from that motorhome, LOL But we wouldn’t go without them!
At one point Jesse worked out at the Garr Ranch on Antelope Island. Oh, how he loved that job! He met people from all over the world. We as a family loved going to RMR (Rocky Mountain Raceway) Our favorite was the “Night of Fire”. He loved 4 wheeling up in corner canyon. He made most of the trails that were featured in the movie “Devil’s Brigade”.
He owned many Dodge Power Wagons in his younger years. His favorite was a yellow one. We went to his friend’s cabin in the yellow one and I was 7 months pregnant, and it was a dirt road with LOTS of bumps and he’s laughing his head off as I’m bouncing up and down on the seat. I was not laughing! He sold that truck for our down payment on our home in Riverton.
Josh and I Love you so much Jesse! It’s so lonely at our house, we know you’re having a glorious reunion with loved ones in heaven. Please give all of our pups a big hug for us!
He is survived by his wife of 44 Yrs., Dawnie, their son Joshua. Brothers Steve McPherron (Jill), Rob McPherron, Sister Tamara Kemp (Jeff). Also, many nephews and nieces and his stepfather Bruce Hanson.
Preceded in death by his dad Jerry McPherron and his mother Claudine Rozenkrantz Hanson. His aunt Barb McPherron, nephew Bronson McPherron, niece Brittany Graham whom he just adored. Niece Marissa Kemp, sister-in-law Bonnie Robinson, mother-in-law Genevieve Robinson and father-in-law Clarence Robinson
